Safety Ratings and Features

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety named the 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe a Top Safety Pick+, awarding it best-possible scores in all categories. Additionally, the IIHS rated the Santa Fe’s front crash prevention system superior to the competition.

Standard safety features include a rearview camera, Vehicle Stability Management System, Electronic Stability Control, Hill Start Assist, and Down Hill Brake Control. All models of the 2018 Santa Fe are also available with Blind Spot Detection, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, and Lane Change Assist. Upper trims come with the option for rear parking sensors, a Multi-View Camera System, Smart Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, High Beam Assist, and Dynamic Bending Lights.

Comfort and Convenience

The 2018 Santa Fe has three rows of seating for up to seven passengers, for a total of 146.6 cubic feet of passenger space. For easier access to the third row, you can also opt for second-row captain’s chairs, which brings the seating capacity to six. It features 13.5 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row, 40.9 cubes behind the second row, and 80 cubic feet of cargo capacity behind the first row.

Entertainment features include Sirius XM Radio, HD Radio, USB and auxiliary input, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and 8-inch touchscreen navigation. The Santa Fe is available with Infinity Premium Audio with Quantum Logic Surround and Clari-Fi Music Restoration Technology.

Performance and Fuel Economy

The 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe comes equipped with a 3.3-liter V6 engine mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission, making 290 horsepower and 252 lb-ft of torque. The SUV can also tow up to 5,000 pounds, so if you’ve got recreational or professional equipment to haul, you’re in luck.

The Santa Fe with front-wheel drive gets 18 MPG city and 25 MPG highway, while all-wheel drive models get 18 MPG city and 24 MPG highway.
